By Alex

A Touch of Nature in the House Made of Concrete and Metal

If you are buying property or building up a house, remember to add bamboo shades and blinds in your plans of doing up the doors, windows and the interiors of the house. Bamboo is a natural product and has a wide range of uses. Bamboo can be cut into pieces with a hacksaw, it can be cut into small thin strips, and it can be dug as posts in the ground and put to many other uses as well. There are bamboo ceilings, bamboo floorings, bamboo walls and bamboo doors and windows too. All these give a very ethnic touch to the house. If you have one room of your choice with bamboo being used generously all round, you can be rest assured that over and over again you would love to stay in that room and savor the wonderful sturdiness and splendor of the natural product called bamboo. Bamboo is now being used in the manufacture of blinds too since it can be easily rolled up and let to fall down when the afternoon sun is scorching the insides of the room.  Bamboo blinds are said to be cooler and more durable than the venetian window blinds made of aluminum or other metal amalgamations.

Bamboo suits the home décor so well that even the best and the finest houses in America today has a touch of bamboo somewhere or the other. It can be inter weaved and intertwined to make a brilliant awning for the outhouse and for the doors and the windows. Bamboo provides an excellent protection from rain and snow, just spread a thick sheet of polythene on top of the bamboo awning and you are protected from rains and snow as well. Bamboo shades and blinds do not require frequent painting and coloring and if you are a color freak, you may add a bit of color to the bamboo shade and blind in the house.

Just a hard scrub on any weekend is good enough to last for at least six months and these shades and blinds do not require frequent maintenance. Once put up they stay that way over a number of years. There are varieties of shades and blinds available in the market and those made of bamboo are eco friendly, environment friendly and easy on the pocket too. Most American shops are importing these shades and blinds from faraway countries like China, India, Myanmar and other south Asian countries.

The most important reason why bamboo is soon finding a place in modern households today is its versatility to the changing aspects of nature. Bamboo does not crack, chip or break off. Products made from bamboo are not brittle and though it is not as malleable as metal, it still wins huge points over other metal products instantly. If at all there is a short circuit in the house, there would be no electrical shock hazards since bamboo is a bad conductor of heat and electricity.

If you are planning to fix up bamboo shades and blinds in your house, you can choose to get the shades painted well since they would be in the outer portion of the house, and the blinds you can choose to keep them as they are or get them polished to give the sheen and shine that would make them more attractive and appealing. Bamboo has been in use since times immemorial and most of the monasteries and temples in China and the Far East have a generous amount of bamboo spread in their making.

Skillful artisans weave bamboo strips to make fantastic shades and other useful home décor materials; there is another group of artisans who can make excellent carvings from bamboo stumps.  Even after your house has been completely done up and as you move through the next stage of furnishings and upholstery, you have choice bamboo furniture to prefer over steel and wooden ones. Bamboo is a product that does not rot when in contact with water and is reasonably fire resistant too.

It is an all weather product and has an amazing strength and durability. Bamboo is at times combined with cloth to make excellent blinds for windows and curtains for doors. There are bamboo lanterns and lampshades that match the décor of the house with a generous sprinkle of bamboo products.
